LevelMaster Adjustable Stump Tops

LevelMaster adjustable stumps are the new standard for stumping a house. Whether you're starting a new build, restumping an existing home, relevelling, or raising a house off the ground, the system gives you a stronger, faster, more accurate result than traditional fixed-height stumps.

The whole range is hot dipped galvanised for long service life and stays adjustable after install — one 45mm spanner gives you a 120mm levelling range, so getting the build true is straightforward even after the bearers are on.

Steelmart stocks every part of the LevelMaster stump system:

  • Stump Top Connectors — Screw-On (75/89/100mm SHS), Weld-On (75/89/100mm SHS) for high-uplift and cyclonic-zone builds, and Screw Pile (76/90mm CHS) for helical pile footings.
  • Horizontal Top Plates — Straight, 4-Hole Straight, Corner, Tee, End of Bearer and End Slot. Bolts up vertically into the underside of the bearer.
  • Vertical Top Plates — Small, Large, Extra Large and Vertical Large Corner. Bolts horizontally through the side of the bearer — ideal for LVL construction.
  • Stump Bases — Cast-In for new pours, Bolt Down (2 or 4 hole) for fixing onto existing concrete pads with chemical anchors. Available to suit 75/89/90/100mm SHS posts.
  • Stump Stirrups — U-shaped tops in 50mm and 100mm to through-bolt steel or timber bearers without clamping pressure.
  • Full Cross Bracing Set — Engineer-certified, hot dipped galvanised M16 bracing kit. No welding required onsite.

All stump components share the same M30 thread, so any LevelMaster top fits any LevelMaster connector. Mix and match the parts to suit your build.

LevelMaster Adjustable Stair Stringers

LevelMaster stair stringers are pre-cut, hot dipped galvanised and engineered to the National Construction Code and Australian Standards (Patent #2016206347). Sold as a matched pair, they're sized for standard 50 × 250mm treads with a 175mm rise, 250mm going and a 34.75° slope.

Like the stumps, they stay adjustable after install — 25mm of height adjustment built in to soak up any unevenness in the slab or footing.

Steelmart stocks the full range of LevelMaster stringers and treads:

  • Bolt-on Slab Stringers — 1 to 17 tread sizes. Bolts straight down onto an existing concrete pad without damaging the galvanising.
  • Inground (Cast-In) Stringers — 3 to 16 tread sizes. Cast directly into a concrete footing for a permanent fix.
  • Hardwood Stair Treads — Spotted Gum, milled rough sawn for a natural outdoor finish (Ironbark available to order).
  • Merbau (Kwila) Stair Treads — Kiln-dried, P4 non-slip rated, complies with AS4584-2013. Suitable indoor or outdoor.
  • Aluminium Stair Tread Kits — Practically maintenance free with concealed fixings and end caps. Won't split, warp, rot or need painting.
  • Steel Mesh Stair Treads — Heavy-duty 40mm mesh with a 10mm fixing plate, hot dipped galvanised. The pick for commercial sites and tough environments.

From a single-step entrance to a 17-tread external staircase, there's a LevelMaster stringer to suit.

FAQ's

What are LevelMaster adjustable house stumps?

LevelMaster adjustable house stumps are a galvanised steel stumping system designed to replace traditional fixed-height stumps. Each stump is built from three parts — a base, a steel post (SHS or CHS), and a top — joined by a 30mm threaded connector that allows the stump height to be adjusted up to 120mm with a single 45mm spanner, both during and after installation.

Are LevelMaster products engineered to Australian standards?

Yes. The stair stringers are engineered to the National Construction Code and Australian Standards (Patent #2016206347), and the Full Cross Bracing Set is engineer-certified. The stump components are hot dipped galvanised to standard for long service life in subfloor and outdoor environments. What's the difference between Bolt-on Slab and Inground (Cast-In) stair stringers?

Bolt-on Slab stringers fix onto an existing concrete pad or slab using bolts — no welding required, and the galvanised coating stays intact. Inground (Cast-In) stringers are cast directly into a concrete pier or footing for a permanent fix. Both styles use the same engineered design, are sized for standard 50 × 250mm treads, and have 25mm of height adjustment built in. Bolt-on and Cast-In are the same price.

What's the difference between Screw-On and Weld-On stump connectors?

Screw-On connectors fix to your SHS post with four Tek screws — fast install, no welding needed. Weld-On connectors are welded directly to the SHS for the strongest possible connection, typically specified for cyclonic areas or builds where increased uplift performance has been engineered. Both styles fit the same LevelMaster top range.

Will all LevelMaster tops fit all LevelMaster connectors?

Yes. Every top in the range — Straight, Corner, Tee, Vertical, Stirrup and the rest — uses an M30 × 200mm thread, so any top works with any Screw-On, Weld-On or Screw Pile connector. Mix and match to suit the build.
