MIG Welding Wire 0.9mm – Gas & Gasless

0.9mm MIG wire for mild steel, in gas-shielded and gasless. Pick the one that suits your machine and where you're welding.

• Gas Shielded (solid wire) — 5kg or 15kg. Needs shielding gas. Cleaner welds with less spatter and clean-up — the pick for workshop fabrication. The 15kg spool works out cheaper per kilo if your feeder takes it.
• Gasless (flux-cored) — 4.5kg. No bottle needed — the flux in the wire does the shielding. Copes with a breeze far better than gas-shielded wire, so it suits outdoor and on-site work. Expect more spatter and a slag to chip off.

Common applications:

• Gates, fences, brackets and trailers
• Farm and on-site repairs (gasless)
• General workshop fabrication (gas shielded)

Tip: Gasless wire usually runs on the opposite polarity to solid wire. Swap your leads as per your welder's manual before you start, and check your wire feeder takes the spool size.
